Winter's Morning

Another beautiful morning here in Sydney, I had breakfast at the Armchair Collective at Mona Vale with my friend Liz again today. Looks like it's becoming our new favourite place. Look at that Winter sky... Stunning! Today's view from home, looking north. Eating out for brekkie today. Yay! Lizzie's brekkie. Yummy! Untitled Untitled Untitled

My 400th Post

These last 2 weeks have been awful here. We have had colds, the flu, and some kind of coughing virus has hit us full on. Not much has been happening but I have taken a few Instagram pics here and there.

The first two pics are of the boys, both home from Kindy and School for days on end trying to get rid of their sicknesses. Luca has now become obsessed with Minecraft. Luckily all he wants to do is make it with Lego. I'm trying to limit his computer time otherwise he would try to be on there all day.

Remi just crashed out!

The next one is the beautiful winter sky that has been seen most days lately. Stunning!

Today's view from home

Drawing on my iPad today

Above is an iPad drawing I did. My iPad is my most favourite play thing at the moment. I have been doing digital finger paintings on it since January and I'm building up quite a collection.

The middle two are of my gorgeous little Installation Artist, Remi. He spent hours making "bats" from Magnetix (I think that's what it's called). He stuck them on the walls with sticky tape. He was so pleased with himself, and so was I.

My little installation artist.

Look what I just came across. Some bats hanging on the wall by little Remi. Cool huh!

The next two are the spectacular winter sunrises we have been having. I walk into the living room every morning, and this is what I see. Gorgeous!

This mornings sunrise, from my verandah.

The last two are of an early morning sun ray, and a banksia that my kids gave me for my birthday, it's so lovely to draw specimens like this.

This mornings view from my verandah. Hoping to get a break from the rain.

So I'm still battling this awful cough, my lovely husband is away for a little while and I must say, my kids are being quite good lately.

I am desperate to get back into my studio but it is so cold down there. My plan is to submit a painting for the Warringah Art Exhibition again this year, which is coming up next month, but hopefully I won't be painting it until the last minute this time. Thank goodness I have been painting lots this year and can pull one from my building collection. (Unless I decide to do a last minute piece - aaahhhh, no thank you... I don't want that to happen - again.)

Wish me luck!

P.S. This is my 400th post! I have been writing here since April 2007, that's 5 years. Who would've thought I'd still be babbling on about myself after all these years?

For the last week or so I have been focusing more on my paintings. They are coming along fine but I wanted to share a couple of iPad drawings I did last week. I love the simplicity and the colours. They will eventually be printed and sold as limited edition prints. I am hoping to have quite a few different designs. They will look wonderful all framed separately on a wall side by side.

A day in the city (Instagram pics)

A rainy day in the city didn't dampen our spirits for a lovely morning at the Australian Quilt Market, at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay. I went with my big sister Leanne and her sewing buddies Jan, Jody and Ally, the girls from All About Sewing. See Ally's post about the market here

My main priority was to chat to a couple of textile distributers so I can (hopefully) create my own fabric line. I chatted to a few and got some awesome info. Now I have a million ideas running around in my head.

Thanks for a lovely day big Sis, it was well worth the rainy weather. xo
