All grown up! Five and a bit years has gone by so fast and my Big Boy started Kindergarten today. No tears were shed by any of us, we are all ready to get back into a routine after the Summer holidays.

Learn your little heart out my sweet Boy, feed that gorgeous brain with knowledge.

Facelift

Second time at the Zoo in as many weeks (we had a guest in town).

A facelift for the (Bull) Elephant enclosure at Taronga Zoo. The original building doesn't house the Elephants anymore, the Male lives just behind it now in a larger enclosure. The building has a small museum inside and it is still in original condition. Outside, a lick of paint makes it look stunning again. The garden clock and topiaries have always been a favourite of mine at the Zoo.

Carousel

Bright colours, flashing lights, horses moving up and down, huge smiles, music and spinning. How much better could it get!

After a quick visit to Wildlife World and the Aquarium we wandered over to Darling Harbour via the Carousel. It always makes me smile, and I got to ride along with my Boys today. It was definitely the highlight.

I ♥♡❤ Inspirational Days

Although my Hubby is on holidays for the next few weeks, (it always seems so much busier with the kids when he is around), I have the urge to get some long awaited design work underway. My mind is always racing a hundred miles an hour with ideas, colours and shapes. I have a few things going on, but I am sure they will take a while to develop. So I am not going to share much Art & Design stuff for a while, but do know, that lots of yummy things will be revealed in 2010.

Bushwalking

Another day of adventure was had today. We decided to go bushwalking along part of the Manly to The Spit Walkway. I think we walked about 5km all up, we had the kids in tow who slowed us down a bit, but they love every minute of being in the great outdoors. We started around Fairlight and went about 10 mins past Forty Baskets Beach, turned around and went back via Forty Baskets for a swim. The pics below show the fun we had.

The colour of this hibiscus was photo worthy.

Searching for unusual shells and sea glass.

Finishing up in Manly for a Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Unexpected fun!

We were meant to go to the Aquarium at Darling Harbour but after a last minute change (due to Little L's car sickness), we decided to stop at the nearest outdoor activity to where we were. It happened to be Taronga Zoo that we were closest to. We hadn't seen the new baby Asian Elephant Luk Chai, so off we went.

So much has changed at the zoo, upgrades are for the better they say, but me, I like the old Zoo, the old entry building, it felt a little different this time. The boys new no different, it has been at least 3 years since we have been, now we are Zoo Friends, we have our Annual passes and plan on returning more often. We had an exhausting day and I took some pretty good pics. The last pic of the Boys pretty much sums it up...

Our Country Home

A few days away was what I needed, just to clear my head. A quick hour and a half drive and we were at our Country Home (My Sister's Home). It's quieter there, except for the cicadas. It's safer there, except for the red belly black snakes and wild horses, and it's cooler there, when they have the air conditioner on and I am inside enjoying looking at all My Sister's lovely creations. The kids had so much fun together, we even managed a little sightseeing on one of the days - not much to see though except land, lots of land, oh, and Pubs.

This cool tree is on their land, I think I have photographed it every time I have been there, it is quite interesting to me.
My BIL made this swing for his kids. I absolutely LOVE it. It has this free flying feeling about it. I never want it to end. I feel sorry for the poor person pushing though - sorry boys!
Luca and his cousin Archie.

Remi and I above and below.

The scenic tour which is more beautiful in person I have to say.

Pubs, Pubs and Pubs.

My lovely Sister with her latest creation, I had to take a pic even though it is yet to have the binding attached. Ooh, it's a yummy licorice delight!

Stormy Weather

We went for a really long walk in the beautiful sunshine today and by the time we got back to the end of our street, this is what it looked like. The kids had a quick dip in the ocean, there was a really long sandbank. It poured down on us on the way up the hill and it was really worth getting wet, it was a wonderful storm.
