A Little Art Show

I had to submit a couple of works, I had to support one of the local pre-schools, I had to enjoy every minute of the evening - just because I could... with out my little ones a tow.

Walking in to the Show was a really lovely feeling. I haven't had anything exhibited for about a year, I had been too caught up in the pregnancy, and now the new(ish) little one is keeping me very busy.

My cousin had told me a month or so ago that they were having a fundraiser at their local pre-school and that I should submit some works for sale. So I looked through my canvases and decided to finish a couple of paintings. All they needed was a quick touch up and a varnish.

The children's sculptural art works that were hanging around the "gallery" could have been mistaken as "grown up art" They were all grouped together which made them make more of a statement, they almost looked like Aboriginal Art. I thought that the whole Art Show was very professionally done, the organisers should be very proud of themselves. I am sure they raised quite a bit of money, there were a lot of little red dots around.

I SOLD one painting (the pre-school got 10% of all sales), and I bought a really lovely piece of jewellery - a necklace made from silver, rose quartz, wood and leather.

It has also made me get back to the easel. It was such a lovely couple of days getting my paintings finished before I took them to the Art Show. I had the double doors open, the sun streaming in, the kiddies upstairs playing/sleeping, and a quiet time to potter about. I wish that could happen every day.

Mother's Group Party

Our Mother's Group turned 4 this month. We had a party for all the kids at one of the local play centres. This is what the kids enjoyed as we sang "Happy Birthday to everyone". They are gluten free cupcakes as we have a Coeliac child in the group. Fun for everyone, they were exhausted at the end of it.

Smoothies

Smoothies are always good for a mid morning snack. Ours were made from banana, strawberries, vanilla yoghurt and milk. Luca is always asking for a drink with an umbrella, so today he got one. The smoothie went down pretty quick, then we went outside and played soccer.

What a day!

We had Little L's birthday party today, it was so much fun. We had mostly relatives and a couple of little friends as well. I am exhausted! It rained, as it always does, every year on his party day. We had both junk food and healthy food. The kids demolished it all! I made a vanilla cake in the shape of the number 4 with blue vanilla frosting and white chocolate chips on top. It was SO YUM! The blue food colouring made the kids go crazy - aahh, there is nothing like a kids party to make the little ones hyper. Even though it was raining, we had a great time.

Busy making bunting.

I am busy making some bunting to hang around the house for Luca's party. I then plan to hang it in the toy room downstairs. I got my sewing machine out today. I have been using my Mum's clunky old thing up until now. What was I thinking? All I had to do was use my step down converter (my machine is American from when we used to live there). It is just dreamy compared to the 'old faithful'. Got to keep sewing, all I have left to do is to sew the bias tape along the top.

::HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG 4 YEAR OLD::

4 is here already. I just can't believe it! Starting off the day with some presents (LEGO), Luca had a really lovely day at Kindy with ice-cream cake and a special birthday hat. When he got home, he had his favourite dinner and a yummy chockie cake from Coles. The homemade cake will be at his party on the weekend. I love you my boy. xxoo

Father's Day

It started pretty early this morning, Little Luca was all excited to make Daddy breakfast in bed, but Daddy got to have presents (hankies and a digital picture frame for the office) and cuddles in bed instead. With Remi waking around 5.30am, presents were done by 6.30am and Remi wanted to be back in bed around the same time. Add to that, 20 minutes or so of feeding Remi, and we are already around 7am- way out of breaky in bed time. So Daddy got a breakfast burrito (scrambled eggs and bacon with salsa and grated cheese in a tortilla), sometime around 9am at the table with Luca and I.

I didn't get to see my dad for Father's day, he is halfway around the world in Austria with Mum, riding bikes along the Danube. Lucky ducks!

::HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD:: We hope you are having the time of your life. I miss you!

My big boy is turning 4 next week. I can't believe time is flying so incredibly fast. He started off a quiet little thing, then one day... the day he started to walk, at 9 months old, he was off and hasn't looked back. He is such a cutie, I just can't believe 4 is almost here.

The view from above.

We got some gardening done yesterday, a lot actually, just before the weather turned foul, and then we went shopping instead.
