Easter is so much fun!

We always have so much fun at "our" (my sister's) country home. My sister and her family always make us so welcome. We had an Easter egg hunt with the kids (I got so caught up in it I forgot to take pics), and Luca played non-stop with Archie and his toys. We rarely see Luca while we are there, he hides in Archies bedroom with all the toys, or they are outside playing the whole time.

I sat on my behind almost the whole time, I needed to relax, and I did. I talked sewing and quilting with Leanne, and she showed me my beautiful Lotus Brick Quilt that she has recently finished quilting on her big quilting machine for me. She thought I might like to do the binding, but I convinced her to do it for me. Hopefully I will have it by the time the baby is born in May. Oooohhh, to snuggle under it will be SOOOO lovely. It is starting to get cold already, the Ugg's are almost ready to show themselves.

Anyway, we ate lots of chocolate, and Luca didn't even make himself sick which I am surprised about. We have SO much left over in the cupboard, ready for a few weeks of chocky overload. Pace yourself!

Chocolate time is near, I can feel it. We are going up to my sisters today, about 1 1/2 hours drive north of here, to spend Easter with them (well at least one night anyway). I don't think I could handle more than one night away from my own bed at 34 weeks pregnant. Oh, my aching back!

Luca is looking forward to the chocky fest and Easter egg hunt with his cousins. I hope yours is fun too.

Lego Obsession

My child is obsessed - with LEGO. He just can't get enough of it. He loves playing the pre-school games on the LEGO website, he loves making anything from LEGO, especially emergency vehicles of all kinds, and rockets seem to be a favourite for him as well.

He is very mechanically minded. He loves to see how everything works wherever we go. The questions that go along with his inquisitive mind are quite hysterical sometimes. I should write some of them down, but with my baby brain I just laugh and sadly forget.

Back to playing now.

I will start by wishing Happy Birthday to my lovely cousin Elise. I hope you had a wonderful day. It didn't start too well for all of us. We decided to brave the opening day of Spotlight together, with the 3 kids in tow. What a mistake that was! Now I know why I don't take Luca with me when I do shopping of any kind. He went crazy with all the people around, and having to hold my hand while he was walking/flopping on the floor. Elise managed to grab the few things she needed and we were out of there. We went back to her place for the kids to have a play and that was that. I gave her one of the brownies I made yesterday, so I am sure she enjoyed that at least.
Happy Day Leesy Loo!

A little fall...

This morning the birds were chirping, the sun was shining and it looked like a lovely day. Having a lot of back pain, and an awful cold, I decided that Luca and I would play around home today. Nick has had to work all weekend, so he has only been home for an hour or so on this lovely Sunday afternoon. It was time for me to have a break from the LEGO playing and the brownie making with Luca, and get a little bit of me time.

Things were going really well for a while, then they both came downstairs, where I was, to go outside and explore to see how many insects they could find. About 15 minutes into it, there was an almighty screech scream from Luca. He has fallen flat on his face and has a gusher of a bleeding nose along with grazes down his face. They were both standing side by side on a deck chair and were looking at a massive spider on its web. Luca lost his balance, and because he was holding a toy in each hand, didn't put his hands out to break his fall. Poor little guy, he had already told me he wasn't feeling well today because he has caught my cold, now to top it off, he has a bloody clogged nose and grazes down his face. I am sure he will get over it pretty quick, but he looks awful right now. Hope you feel better soon little guy.

Ok, so this is the first photo that has been taken of me this pregnancy. Luca got a hold of the camera, reluctantly with my approval, and started snapping away.

S C A R Y ! ! !

I didn't realise when I don't have a full length mirror in the house, how huge I am. Oh well, poor me, not long now. I am now 33 weeks gone and 7 weeks to go. I have started to, over the last 2 weeks, have a lot of back pain, and to top it off, I have an AWFUL cold. Only a little more baking to do and we will have a new little one.

Mother's Group

We had some of the troop here today for Mother's Group. They all sat down for a little bite to eat in between demolishing the place. It is always a ton of fun to have everyone here, they just love playing together and are all such sweet kids. There are still 8 of us Mother's, out of the original 10, who still see each other on a regular basis. There are 5 of us that see each other at least once a week, and I just couldn't do without my weekly chat. It is harder to catch up with everyone this year though, all the kids go to pre-school for two days a week, and half the Mum's have gone back to work. We try to have a dinner together regularly without the kids, but not often enough.

Anyway, they are a fantastic group of ladies, and I can see us still catching up with each other many years from now.

Good night, Mon xo

Flowers for me.

For me???? You are way to kind. Ok, so I do deserve them.

My lovely husband was kind enough to buy me these beautiful flowers today. It was VERY unexpected, but very much appreciated. They brightened up my week of feeling like large pregnant Marge.

The view from here isn't bad either.

Thanks Honey,
Mon, xo.

Early Easter

A friendly little visitor on the fence when we went to visit Luca's Gramps.

A little early Easter gift for us from Luca's Aunty Mika and Uncle Jarrod. It's so kind of them to think of us so far in advance. Talk about organised, where do I learn to be like that. I am a last minute kind of person, I think I should change that about myself, it frustrates the %&#* out of me.

MMmmmmm!!!! Chocky!!!
