A House, A Baby and A Party

We have just had the most crazy wonderful last few weeks. One of the reasons that I haven't been writing in my blog is because I have been dealing with tiredness and morning sickness. Yep, that's right, I am going to have a baby - in May. Eleven weeks into it and we have bought a house, which we are so excited about, and Nick has celebrated his 40th Birthday. We told the whole family about our 'baby news' on the weekend at Nick's Birthday BBQ. Everyone is really happy for us, it's wonderful. So, Baby No.2 is in production... finally! We are extremely excited about it as is Luca. He is always talking into my belly button to it - so cute!

We were lucky to find a house that we love and don't have to do any major reno's to. All of the renovations have been done, we just have a few little things to do to make it kid safe. Our closing date is in mid-December, so we will be in before Christmas if all goes to plan. Yay!

So many things happening in such a short period of time. We have been renting this apartment since we moved back from NY 4 1/2 years ago, so it is time to make things a little more permanent. I think my family are relieved that we aren't moving away again any time soon. Luca just loves seeing all his relo's.

They were all here on the weekend to celebrate Nick's 40th with us. It is always so nice to see everyone. Luca was a little over excited about the whole day, and was playing up a little bit, but had so much fun with his cousins and didn't want them to leave. He was asleep by 6.45pm (his bed time is usually 8.30pm) so I was thrilled after a long tiring day.

Other than that, nothing more exciting, except for a nice 33C degree day. I love Summer!

Happy Day to you. Mon xo

Helmet Head

Little L had fun at Gramps' house today. He decided to put this 49ers helmet on and I couldn't resist taking a pic of his huge helmet head. Too cute!

::40::40::40::40::

Happy Birthday to my lovely husband Nicholas. He turned 40 years old today, I can't believe how much time flies. We went to dinner this evening at Stella Blu, it's always a favorite for us when we can't decide where to go. It is nice and close to home, and has really lovely food. I am absolutely hooked on Bruschetta at the moment, so we had that as a Starter. I haven't had it for such a long time, and they made it really delicious tonight, I just wanted to keep eating it.

For the Main I had Galletto Ripieno con Castagne e Mascarpone, Marsala e Fagioli Borlotti
(Pan roasted organic chicken with a chestnut & mascapone stuffing, wrapped
with pancetta finished with a marsala wine sauce & borlotti beans).

Nick had Rotolato di Vitello Ripieno con Salsicce, Pecorino e Basilico
(Roasted veal loin rolled & filled with Italian sausage meat,
Pecorino cheese, onions & basil served with crushed baby peas & shallots).

I would have taken photos, but I forgot. I think it was the bliss of not having a high maintenance child running around like a chook with it's head cut off. We just wanted to sit and relax. After dinner we had Creme Caramel for dessert and the lovely waiter came out singing "Happy Birthday" waving a sparkler in his hand. A couple of Hot Chocolates later and our night was complete. It was SO nice to go out and do something as an adult. Nick is ALWAYS going out for lunches and dinners with work, so he is a little bit spoilt and a bit of a food critic. Not me though, I enjoy every minute of a nice dinner out.

Sleep time now...
zzzzzz. Mon xo

It seems that the last 2 weeks has been consumed with trying to buy a particular house. We found a property that we really like. We have been getting all the necessary inspections, filling in the appropriate paperwork and trying to secure the place before it is snatched away by someone else. Talk about a stressful time, my stomach has been turning in knots for 2 weeks straight, put together with this on going cough I have, and I am ready for a break/holiday. Too bad there are none on the horizon. I think that Christmas time will be the closest break coming up.

Summer is definitely upon us. We have had quite a few days in the 30's this week, one of them, we stayed inside with the aircon on. Too hot to go to the park, or anywhere else.

My creativity has been put on hold, although I do think about it EVERY day. I am starting to Spring clean, I think it is the thought of moving into a fully renovated place with nothing major to do that is making me want to start packing, as well as get rid of a lot of things that have accumulated in this apartment over the last 5 years. The new place has a massive garage, so the thought of a garage sale has crossed my mind a few times lately as well.

I must get back to it while Little L has gone to the park with N. I guess the break will come eventually.

This is a really great video on You Tube if you want to see. It is the "Day in the Life of a Mom Song" sung to the William Tell Overture. Hilarious!!

Happy Saturday... Mon xo
